As a speech therapist and mom, I spend a lot of time reading (and re-reading) children’s books. There are so many incredible children’s books out there, but there are some that I find my clients and my own children reaching for over and over.

Did you know...
that it’s actually beneficial for children to read the same books over and over again?
It can improve…
Vocabulary development
Hearing the same words over and over again helps children to thoroughly understand vocabulary!
Reading Comprehension
Children tune into new parts of the story each time it’s read, deepening reading comprehension skills!
Love of Reading
Children often find comfort in the predictability of a familiar story, which can help foster a love of reading!
Below are the books that I can recite from memory after years of reading them to children over and over again 🧡

The Going to Bed Book by Sandra Boynton
Brown Bear Brown Bear by Bill Martin Jr. & Eric Carle
Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. & John Archambault
Moo, Baa, La La La by Sandra Boynton
And here are some other notable mentions, because every child has different interests and there are so so many incredible children’s books to just mention a few :)
Peanut Butter & Cupcake by Terry Border
Press Here by Herve Tullet
I Like Myself by Karen Beaumont
Where Is the Green Sheep? by Mem Fox & Judy Horacek
Where's Spot? by Eric Hill
The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson
How to Catch a Star by Oliver Jeffers

Happy reading and learning!
