Did you know it’s possible to boost your child’s speech development without adding more steps to your day?
As a mom of two young children, I completely understand that there’s just not always time in the day to add in extra activities.
So, let’s learn how to boost your child’s language during bath time!

Talk about what’s happening in their environment
Attaching language to actions and objects in your child’s environment, especially during routines that happen daily, is one of the most natural and powerful ways to boost your child’s language skills.
Bath time is the perfect time to talk about actions - scrub, splash, wash, spray, and make those fishies swim!
Learn body parts - naming the part of your child’s body you are washing as you wash it will help create meaning and insure they remember the words they’re hearing!
Introduce new vocabulary with different toys - here are some of my favorites!
Read Books
Yes! You can read books in the bath! Honestly, it’s one of my favorite ways to make book reading interactive and engaging, especially for little ones who are extra wiggly and have trouble sitting still for books!
Here are some of my family’s favorites!
I Dig Bubbles - The colors appear when the pages get wet. So cool!
Bath Time! Book
Barnyard Bath - love a Sandra Boynton book!

Bath time can be such a fun part of the day and fun leads to learning!
